Coming to India to learn yoga?

If you are in India, learn yoga from real gurus

If you are planning to come to India anyway, and can plan a yoga session with genuine yoga teachers in India, the birthplace of yoga, the experience can by very satisfying and fulfilling. However, mind my word 'genuine'.

But to come to India just to learn yoga is the last thing we'd advise. There are many yoga courses available in the US, UK and many other countries. In fact, in some countries, yoga teaching has been better standardised [as of 2010] than in India.

We'd rather propose that you go this way if you want to learn yoga:

Research well about a 'genuine' and expert yoga teacher. This is a good link for some do's and dont's.

Have the initial sessions on yoga under supervision.

Keep researching, through knowledgeable websites, about the best yoga suited to your physique, etc.

Be happy where you are. Do visit India to see an amalgam of very ancient to very modern; of  very varied and very beautiful of nature; of very bad and very very good of human existence!
