India Travel Card from Axis Bank

Axis Bank has launched the India Travel Card, a prepaid debit card with maximum balance [load] of Rs. 50,000. You can load it through your home currency and use the card to make rupee payments while in India. This is first of this type, issued by a top class Indian bank.

The card can be purchased over the counter, from a large network of licensed money changers and 192 Axis Bank branches. You can check usage of the card online and can change security PIN at any Axis Bank branch. You can get refund of the unspent balance on departure from India.

In India, the card can be accessed at about 470 thousand merchant terminals and more than 44000 ATMs spread all over the country.
