Fewer Pakistani artistes will be able to visit India

Singer Rahat Ali's arrest in India for carrying foreign currency is the trigger

It is going to be difficult for Pakistani artists visiting India. The tense relationship between the two neighbouring nations makes sure that only a few visas are granted, that too after a lot of paperwork, answering and delay.

Now, as a fallout of Rahat Ali case, actors and artistes from across the border will also have to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) from Pakistan's Interior Ministry. The Ministry of Culture will certify the actors and artistes before the NOC application is examined by the Interior Ministry.

Pakistani singers are quite popular in India. Of late, a few Pakistani artistes arealso taking part in India's reality shows and other TV serials.
